The first World Barista Championship Judges Certification for 2011-12 will take place on October 25-26, 2010 in Bogotá, Colombia at the Colombian Coffee Federation (Federacion Nacional de Cafeteros- FNC).

Scott Conary will lead this Certification along with Brent Fortune, owner of Crema Bakery & Cafe in Portland, Oregon.

Workshops for WBC Judges Certification will be available at various locations around the world. Candidates must meet the requirements to be eligible to participate in the workshop.

Each workshop is two full days & the focus of the workshop is testing the skills of technical and sensory judges for WBC Certification. The testing process involves:

– A Written Test
– Practical Judging Assessments
– Coffee Tasting
– Video Tests

Passing the workshop qualifies as a WBC Certified Judge for 2011-2012 . Becoming a WBC certified judge doesn’t guarantee a judging role at the annual event, but it gives credentials to the WBC Certified Judges.
